Latest Antics of the Precious Pussy Pets
Yesterday saw the first visit to the summerhouse and the POND for the babies. Pond plus "jungle" all around meant only one thing - HUNTING!!! Instinct clearly leapt inside their little breasts and they had a whale of a time.
Sintra is quite clearly the most enthusiastic huntress, and could not quite understand why that green stuff on the surface of the pond, known to humans as duckweed, would not hold her weight when she went in pursuit of a dragonfly half her bodily length.
In the end, she gave a leap of faith to try to catch it - and promptly ended up with a "plop" down through the duckweed! No ill effects, though - the pond is designed with wildlife in mind, so the margin is graduated all around and she was able to scrabble to safety and continue her pursuit of all things winged.
Lissy, on the other hand, pretended to be a tiger, burying herself in the bark chippings, so that she was better able to leap out and "kill" her sister at all available opportunities.
This amount of activity exhausts even the liveliest of kittens - so we all retired to the summerhouse, where both babies promptly fell asleep on my lap - followed, I admit guiltily, by myself!
As you can see, sleep is a popular pastime when they are not rioting - the last two photos here showing some of the inventive resting places that they find during the course of a day..

They look like the perfect pair. Cute and adorable with just the right amount of bravery and daring that kittens should have. I can foresee many hours of fun and games in their future.

Why, here we thought dollhouses were just something you collected, when all along you intended them to be special places for these two adorable little kitties! I loved the one sleeping in the plant. Even when they're cats they're cute to watch - however, they aren't as able to fit in odd little places anymore, and settle for one rocking chair and on top of the phone books next to the computer. I did make the mistake of sitting in Sassy's chair yesterday afternoon, whereupon whe hopped into my lap and howled to let me know it was not MY chair. I moved, she settled into her usual spot and the tadoo (sp?) was over.
