The first photo is beautiful, but I know the situation is not beautiful at all in your corner of the world.
Just now when I am writing this I am watching the television news about the floodins in England.

Roz, it is awful, and I feel so bad for those whose homes are flooded. I don't think there is anything dirtier than flood water, and so many will find they are not covered by insurance.
I grew up around Bewdley and Kidderminster in Worcs, and we always had floods. They have flood barriers now, but I think the high water levels are challenging those too now.
I wish I could send you some of our sunshine..

Roz,

Sending you a commiserating note from Texas Roz. For over two months, Texas has been deluged with rains, thunderstorms, floods, loss of power, undrinkable water, destruction of homes, small towns, lives, etc. Texas has been in drought conditions for the two years that I have lived here but enough with the rain...never thought I would say this but I am so looking forward to the good old 100 temp F days that we had this time last summer.

Jill

Another Texan chiming in with a heartfelt "We understand!
Just be grateful your floods don't also bring mosquito population explosion.
Talk about adding insult to injury-getting wet with rain, and bitten by the pest once the sun does come out.

krissie

yes its awful - following the UK news every day here. But I would have to say - ditto about the rain here too...been raining here for the last 2 weeks and although we DO need the rain..I feel like shouting ...rain rain go away.....this girl need s some sun!

Roz, I'm happy to hear that Autumn Cottage has escaped and damage related to your wet weather.

The news here is full of pictures and stories about the flooding in the U.K. I feel so badly for those in areas that have been damaged.

Sorry about the rain, Roz. I'm only hoping that Tennessee has got a bit while I've been gone. We've had a drought over the last year or so.

I am glad to read you are out of the worst of it. The inundation around Oxford looks very scary.

The photo is beautiful with the reflection of the swan. Our news has showed much coverage of yourpart of the world and flooding. We have had thunderstorms 3 days in a row come near evening time...today a little earlier and so I left work earlier than usual to be with Kayleigh who came home to get more of her "stuff" to take back with her to her house. It means the GOODBYE all over again tomorrow evening :-( but good to have home tonight! HEy friend thanks so much for the poem and for the plugging of my blog. I got loads of hits and wondered who it was who must have highlitghted my blog for some reason. The good news is that they touch all the time...a hug everytime Josh leaves the house his Dad gets...we never take for granted there will be a chance for the one (hug or kiss) you forgot to give because you were in too big a hurry!
