When my soul needs to heal, I go back to the soil, to "The Peace of Wild Things".
The garden can bring beauty and produce, but I have long felt that there is also a tremendously healing energy in the garden, something powerful about getting your fingers into the good earth, getting back to nature.
Here is just one author who expresses this so well - Buddhist teacher and organic gardener Wendy Johnson, who has just published a new book - "Gardening at the Dragon's Gate", and speaks about the themes in it here, at this interesting podcast.
So much to learn - enjoy!
Roz,
I love the new photo of you! You look so very pretty!
I love the outdoors, too. I have had some difficulty getting out here, as it rains most of the year. But this weekend, we spent most of it outdoors, and I am finally getting a sense of direction, and a sense of time by the light or dark of the sky. And there were so many things that were made clear, that had been rattling around inside me, with no way to express themselves. Does any of this make sense to you?

I will take the first part of the day off tomorrow, and plan to spend it in the garden. Full time for autumn chores to be done, and still so much beauty.

You grew that? Terrific! Now are you going to eat it? I love artichokes.
