I am so sorry to have to tell you all that just over two hours ago, my dear little girl was killed on the road outside the house, another beloved pet who has fallen victim to a passing car. Since the Newbury bypass was built ten years ago, the road has been so much quieter outside, but obviously still not quiet enough.
The young woman driver who had hit her was kind enough to knock and ask if I had a cat, and then direct me to her - I am so grateful that she was not left there on the road for other vehicles to run over her. Tomorrow, I will bury her in the garden of Autumn Cottage where she has played so happily all summer through.
I am heartbroken - I may well find Pip another, safer home while he is still young enough to settle elsewhere. I don't think I can bear any more heartache right now.
What a beautiful kitty. I'm so sad about this.

I am so sorry--you are in my thoughts. I, too, have decided that my life circumstances are not conducive to the wonderful company of kitties.

Oh Roz, what a horrible awful thing to read. She is soooooooooooo beautiful and sweet. I can't bear to think about this. I'm holding you in my heart.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a fur baby can be so hard. {{BIGHUG}}Your house would seem so empty without both of them. Sleep on your decision to get rid of Pip.

Oh..oh..oh. I am so sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. I love cats and understand the hurt you are feeling. Again, I am so sorry.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this and this being my first comment on your blog! I've been reading you for a while and even emailed photos of your two beautiful silver and gold kitties to a friend who also loves cats and all things British.
Do you not want to try and keep Pip inside? I've taken in a number of strays and while it is not easy, I've made three of them inside only cats. Such a tragedy, nonetheless. My heart aches for you.

I'm so very sad to hear of your loss. Pet people understand that other pet people grieve over the loss of their little furry companions.
Remember little Pip is probably grieving, too. When we had to put down one of our dogs, one of the younger ones went inside my bedroom closet and cried for 3 whole days.
Maybe you can help each other through your mutual loss. (I REALLY hope this isn't coming across too weird). It's just difficult to make decisions when you're hurting.
God bless you and your little kitty, too. (Now that was an attempt at a little Wizard of Oz humor!)

Roz, I'm so sorry about dear Lily. She was a beautiful creature and I know you'll miss her.
Thinking of you with love....

I'm so, so sorry, Roz. I think another cat of yours was also struck by a car, or at least I vaguely remember that. I know you will be getting up soon, just as I'm going to bed; I hope that you somehow got some sleep. Is there a lot of traffic near where you live? I always imagine you in a really rural location.
