Is that the time already?? - I only just blinked - and here it is, one minute to Maytime!
I hid my head so firmly under the blankets during all that snow and cold a few months ago that it was a while before I took a peek outside - and look now - the garden is already in full throttle ahead at Autumn Cottage (even if it has been powdered with a little scintillating volcanic ash!) and I am missing my regular "catch-ups" with you all. I won't regale you with excuses - life has just kept me busy...but without more to do and few words from me, here is a brief photo essay of what's been happening here over the last few weeks. Not surprisingly, most of what has been changing has taken place in the garden - the annual miracle of a seemingly dead landscape bursting again into blossoming life. Tonight I'll share with you some images of Autumn Cottage garden waking up, and in the next few days show a few of the bric-a-brac and antique finds that I have made in the last few weeks.
Nice to be back again!
Daffodils under the old apple tree
Artful arrangement of garden bits and pieces to hide the stump of the old, dead, leylandii until other things grow around it.
Mother's Little Helper - ready to do the watering if necessary!
The Great Geranium Enterprise - as they arrived, little plugs - 140 of them - needing to be potted up into recycled youghurt pots
Filling every available space in the conservatory before going out to the greenhouse
Earth mixed - Tubs waiting - ready to plant out
Five of the many tubs planted up - back to the greenhouse for a week or two...
In the herb garden....the herb wheel springing into life
Sweet-pea pyramid planted up and ready to go...
Waiting for warmth and wine...
Weeping pear blossom - prolific this year.
The summerhouse - a place for waiting, watching and listening....especially in the evening, when the song-thrush sings above in the oak tree.
Welcome back to Springtime at Autumn Cottage!
