Today, upon the Day of All Saints, the Dia de Los Muertos, I remember the women of my line - including myself, all the children we have borne, and all the struggles and joys we have endured and enjoyed in doing so. I am grateful for all the sacrifices that my ancestors have made. These are those women.
(A link to the Ofrenda made to commemorate them this year is at the bottom of the page...please take a look if you have not seen it).
Margaret Nankivell (nee Humby), my Great-grandmother, with her grandson, George.
Margaret's daughter, Lilian Silcox (nee Nankivell), my Grandmother, with her twin daughters, Florence Margaret Servia and Lilian Mary Louvaine
Lilian's daughter, My Mother, Lilian Latham (nee Silcox) and myself, about three years old
Myself and my firstborn, Hugh.
Please take a look at the Ofrenda I have made to honour them before you leave!
I am participating today in the Dia de Bloglandia 2011, organised by Rebecca of Recuerda Mi Corazon and Stephanie of the Mango Studio. To see their wonderful celebrations for this year and works created by other paticipants, please visit their pages by clicking on these links.
I love how you've honored the women of your lineage and shared your wonderful pictures. This is truly a magical day.

This is a wonderful way to commemorate the line of women in your family tree that have influenced and molded the daughters of daughters. I love it. Your photos are fabulous.

Roz, what exquisite memories and photos of your lineage of women. The photo of you and Hugh has a madonna-like quality I want to play with in PhotoShop. Do you mind?
