Barbara Bloomfield

Without my glasses on that looked like a roast Sunday dinner you were giving them..

Mad Englishwoman and Dog

How lovely to have a thrush in your garden. I haven't seen one for years.
Where do you put your apples, cheese etc? I can only put food out in feeders otherwise the magpies eat it - which tends to mean nuts and seeds.

Its good to see others feeding the birds, especially year round! We are having frigid temperatures right now.I just came inside from my feeder duties. Who eats the fruit at your feeders Roz? Noone seems to care for it here this time of year. Today its black oil sunflower, mixed seed, suet, thistle and of course water. We had a small flock of redpolls yesterday--a rarity for us here.

Uhoh. Better tell my birds to move upmarket - my feeding bowl in the mornings is a poor relation (seeds and nuts). Mine don't get apples - can barely afford to buy enough to keep The Man in his half dozen a day...! Mind you the thrush family got ALL our apples from our little orchard this year, along with the wasps; though to be fair, 'all' this year was a small fraction of the usual crop. And, like Belinda, it'll be magpies or squirrels if anything as lavish as cheese is put out! :-)

Love to you Roz xx
