Love it! I, too, am charmed by the ephemera I find between the pages of books!

Oh my goodness those block prints are wonderful. Of course all the pieces that fall out are treasures. I sometimes stumble upon things I've left in my own books years ago. I probably wondered what happened to them at the time. That address on a scrap of paper, that grocery list, LOL.

Oh Roz, these are absolutely adorable. I love this kind of find. I have a couple of diaries that were at an antique dealer, hidden in a basket under a bunch of china. It pays to look around! I also love old recipe boxes. I have mine, my mom's and our great-aunt's and the recipes I've tested are good (so far). Thanks for sharing this. What a find for you!

I buy a lot of used books from Amazon.com as the least expensive way to support my reading habit. I've collected an interesting assortment of "book markers" that way myself.

Diana Birchall

Yes, what a treasure! Do you know the book's date? The drawings might be - what? 1910ish?

Both my mother and grandmother had very rounded writing. Many recipes written out. Have never seen anyone's writing like it.

Que c'est joli. J'adore ces cahiers. Ils cachent des secrets de grands mère et nous donne une joie immense lorsque nous voulons les découvrir. Merci. Enfance et bonheur au rendez vous. Bonne journée.

I have a very faint recollection of seeing a similar book about 65 years ago, when my grandfather came to live with us. It presumably belonged to either my grandmother or one of my aunts, both of whom died in the 1920s or earlier. I can remember being given it to draw in (!), but I don't know what happened to it afterwards.
