We had pheasants and quail in our back yard/garden when I was a kid. When I got to college I was in a home economics class and the teacher had a friend who was a "bird hunter". That teacher brought three pheasants in and detailed how to prepare them. I was sad to see them without the life that I always loved to see when we were kids. While I am a meat eater, I didn't partake.

The pheasants at Autumn Cottage are so beautiful, Roz, I remember. Glad they have a sanctuary there, despite the guns across the way!
