A chance conversation today, regarding special places and an author living in Argyllshire, brought back very vivid memories to me of the pull of the Highlands of Scotland - one of *my* very special places and one that I still long to revisit. Here are just a few images - from 17 years ago - of the wild landscape of Ardnamurchan that still calls to me; so very different to the 'roses round the door' setting in which I live for most of the year.
But look at the place - doesn't it call to you too??
Glenborrodale, on the Ardnamurchan peninsula
The resident Pine Marten
Camus Bay
Castle Tioram (+much younger Roz +Tim!)
On the shore of Loch Linnhe
The exquisite Sanna Bay

Dusk along Golden Eagle Ridge, behind the cottage
Journal prompt; What are your special 'Places of the Heart' - that you might have visited many, many years ago - or last week - that still call to you to return? What do you remember of them? Why do they pull you so much in their direction? How can you revisit them again?…(in person, or via your keyboard and Captain Google!
Oxford, always Oxford. It's the one city that has this country-girl's heart :)
And it's where our Girl is staying, even after graduation - just as I did over 30 years ago.
