Love this story! Remember in the South one never says thanks for a free plant (cutting, seedling, etc)... just "I appreciate it" or "This will look so nice in my backyard" or whatever. It's considered bad luck for the plant. Interesting! Personally, I have a hard time not saying thanks. :)
